| The
Police Service of Northern Ireland was established
following recommendations of the Independent
Commission on Policing for Northern Ireland
and the Police (Northern Ireland) Act 2000.
The aim was to create a new beginning, with
far-reaching and permanent change in policing
structures and civilianisation, so that The
Police Service reflects the whole community.
As one of the largest employers
in Northern Ireland and a progressive organisation
The Police Service of Northern Ireland strives
to achieve excellence by embracing and managing
its changing culture. Civilian Support Staff
are a key element in shaping the future of
the Service.
The Police Service of Northern
Ireland currently employ approximately 3,000
Support Staff across Northern Ireland. Whether
you are an experienced professional, taking
the first steps in your career, considering
a change or returning to work, the variety
and quality of opportunities the Support Function
of The Police Service of Northern Ireland
offer are second to none.
Since September 2002, civilian
